Rick Rogers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Richard A. Rogers, 47, of the Jacksonville, Fla. area, formerly of Marshalltown, died May 21, 2008, in Jacksonville.

Services and interment were held in Jacksonville. A memorial fund is being established in Rick’s name. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Gunderson Funeral Home, c/o Kevin Rogers, 1615 N. 15th St., Fort Dodge, IA 50501.

Richard Arthur Rogers, son of Arthur D. and Jaonna B. Rogers, was born March 11, 1961, in Aurora, Ill. His family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa, and he was a 1979 graduate of Marshalltown High School. Rick attended Iowa State University. On June 4, 1982, Rick was united in marriage to Carolyn Lenning at St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. The couple lived in Ames while Rick finished his degree at Iowa State. While employed with Iowa Beef Processors, the couple lived in Sioux City, Iowa, and Emporia, Kan. They later moved to Pelican Rapids, Minn., where Rick was employed with West Central Turkey as comptroller and chief operating officer. Rick facilitated the sale of the company to Hormel Company, and he and Carolyn then moved to Willmar where he was employed with Hormel. Rick and his family moved to Beijing, China, where they lived for six years and he managed and operated a production facility for Hormel. The family moved back to Minnesota in 2005, before moving to the Jacksonville, Fla., area in 2007.
