Dearest mother of Lukas Fadness of Clarks Summit, PA and Brooke Fadness of Miller Place, NY. Loving daughter born in Marshalltown, Iowa on Nov. 16, 1960 to Leon E. and Josephine (Nefzger) Williams of Marshalltown, IA. Dear sister of Jeffrey (Nancy) Williams of Platteville, WI and Gregory Williams of Marshalltown, IA; niece of Kenneth (Sharon) Williams of Eureka Springs, AK. Kathy departed on Feb. 22, 2011 and resided in Amherst, NY. The family will be present on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the (Tonawanda Chapel) Amigone Funeral Home, Inc. 2600 Sheridan Drive (at Parker Blvd.) where a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Friends invited. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorials may be to Hospice Buffalo Inc.

Karen's mom just called to tell me that Karen passed away yesterday of Melanoma. Her services are Saturday, in Buffalo. I was hoping that you could send a message along to the class so that they could send their condolences if they wish. Karen was a dear friend of mine, she attended Rogers Elementary and Miller before attending MHS. She was 50. Here is the service information:

Karen A. Fadness, 50, formerly of Marshalltown, currently residing in Amherst, New York, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the Hospice Buffalo in Cheekatowaga, New York.

Memorial services for Karen were held Saturday, February 26, at the Amigone Funeral Home in New York.

A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed in Karen's name to Iowa River Hospice.

Karen was born November 16, 1960, in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Leon E. and Josephine (Nefzger) Williams.

She was raised and educated in Marshalltown, graduating with the Marshalltown High School Class of 1979.

Karen was married to Roger Fadness on September 27, 1980, at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.

They later divorced. At the time of her death Karen was working for the Sweet Home High School in food services.

Left to mourn her loss are her two children: Luke Fadness of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania and Brooke Fadness of Miller Place, New York, her parents Leon E. and Josephine Williams of Marshalltown, her two brothers: Jeffrey (Nancy) Williams of Platteville, Wisconsin and Gregory Williams of Marshalltown, her uncle Kenneth (Sharon) Williams of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, her cousins Bret (Gina) Williams of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark Williams of Dallas, Texas and Kimberly Williams of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, her two nephews: Eric Williams of Platteville, Wisconsin and Kurt Williams of Orlando, Florida.

Karen was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
