Tonya Frazier

Tonya Marie (Frazier) Cowger, 50, of Marshalltown, entered into eternal life July 27, 2008, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.

Funeral services will be noon Friday at Second Baptist Church, 516 Bromley St. Cremation rites will follow the ceremony and a private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the Tonya Frazier Cowger Memorial Fund in care of her family. Condolences may also be sent to her family at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is caring for Tonya and her family.

Tonya was born on July 19, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore "Syl" and Josephine (Witt) Frazier. She was first educated in the Des Moines Public Schools and graduated from Marshalltown High School. She was united in marriage to Henry Cowger in Marshalltown and she was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church.

For many years, Tonya participated in the Special Olympics where she excelled in track, skating and dancing. She was employed at Mid-Iowa Workshop and CIRSI.

She will be missed by her husband, Henry, of Marshalltown; two brothers, Ted Frazier and Craig Warren; two sisters, Latrina Frazier and Vickie Brown; her foster mother, Clara Miller; her foster sisters: Wilma, Charlene, Lily, Sandra and Lynn; her husband's eight brothers and sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In eternal life, Tonya joins her parents and two sisters, Debra and Renay Warren.
